Worldcup #3 Val di Sole

The great scenery of the Val di Sole in the north of Italy presents a quite hard track for the third round of the UCI MTB worldcup. Those steep ups and the quick and steep downs really offer less time for recovery and the great sun and heat doesn`t make it more easy.

On saturday afternoon the U23 race was started at 16.30 o’clock with six laps to go. I took a good start and after the startloop I went into lap one as second. Before going into the first technical section I was able to move into the lead to find my line. Seems that I found I really good line because when I looked back after this section I got a little gap which suddenly was like 20 sec. after an half lap. I tried to go for my own rhythm. The sun was really strong but nervertheless I was able to increase my lead. I could continue till the end of the race and winning my second worldcup ahead of the Italians Daniele Braidot and Nicholas Pettina is just a great feeling. And I even got back the leaderjersey in the overall.

Next week the European championships are held in Swiss capital Bern.
