With the 3rd round in Nove Mesto in the Czech Republic the UCI MTB Worldcup returns to European soil again.
About 20.000 crazy enthusiastic fans made their way to join the action at the 4.5km long track at the Biathlon stadium. A lot of roots, rocks and some steep climbs made this track a really demanding one.
With about 150 riders in the startline I took an allright start and was sittig within the reach of the Top20 in lap one. With five more laps to go I tried to ride consistent and concentrated and so I managed to move up into the Top20. After a hard race I came in super happily in 18th place.
The worldchamp Schurter won the race ahead of the French Tempier and a strong Milatz.
The next round of the UCI MTB Worldcup will take place in Albstadt in front of a homecrowd in just one week time. I’m really looking forward to that one.
