The whole world elite of Mountainbiking found their way to Albstadt, Germany, for the fourth round of the UCI Mountainbike Worldcup. And so did about 15.000 spectators, that were joining the 4 km long track in the „Bullentäle“, which is well know for it`s pretty steep climbs.
With about 150 riders on the line I started quite well form 28th position and after two laps I found myself within the Top15. I feld well and tried to continue to push forward and so after lap three of eight I reached a groupe that was riding for 11th position. But my hopes to have one loop in the groupe to recover a bit from this effort didn`t come true, instead I had a hole dozen of riders behind that didn’t look like they need a lap of rest. Kind of bad timing, so I lost quite a few places in once. In the and I came in on an ok 28th place, but thinking about the first half of the race makes me happy and confident that my form is nearly back. So looking forward to the next weeks.
The Worldcup leader Absalon won the race ahead of Worldchampion Schurter and Tempier.
