Bikefestival Haiming

Also this year many worldclass riders found their way to the „HC“ honorable category race in Haiming at the food of „Ötztal“ in Tirol (Austria).

The raceweekend started with the eliminator sprint in Haiming downtown on friday evening. On a flat and fast asphalt track I could made my way into the small final where I finally got 6th. So it was a good start into the weekend.

On sunday the HC race was occupied with many worldclass rider from all over the world. The 4,9 km long track was a really tough one because there were so many roots, rocks and short but steep hills so there was really less time to recover. But it was a nice one, so I hoped to get back to old strength in this race. My start from the second row was not the best but in the first two laps I could caught up. Together with the dutch Michiel van der Heijden we could get back to the casing group, but in lap four I was not able to close a small gap after a singeltrail I tried to find my own rhythm. Together with Fabian Giger we found a good speed.  In the last of seven laps I got little cramps so I could not do better in the last part of the race. Really satisfied I got 9th in the end, espacially satisfied that I found back my power. Karl Markt won the race ahead of Litscher and Marotte.

On the next weekend it is time for the local race here in Haltern.
